Isolation rooms are spaces in hospitals meant to keep patients with infectious airborne diseases away from other patients and visitors.
They must maintain a specific air pressure setpoint to prevent bacteria and viruses from entering or escaping the space and contaminating the air.
ASHRAE standard 170 draws guidelines to follow when designing and constructing healthcare facilities. According to this standard, each isolation
room must be equipped with a device allowing continuous monitoring and control of the room’s pressurization when occupied.
Neptronic’s Static Pressure Controller (SPC) includes two direct/reverse acting analog outputs. It’s ideal to modulate a damper or variable
frequency drive (VFD) to maintain pressure at a given setpoint. They provide a rapid and precise response to adjust airflow and sustain adequate
room pressurization.
Neptronic’s Static Differential Transducer (SPD) accurately measures the pressure differential and converts it to an analog signal.
The signal directly controls a bypass damper or is sent to a Building Management System (BMS) for further visualization or processing.
